Mark and Denise.
The room was very comfortable, the house very nicely decorated, and above all hosts were genuinely committed to make us have a great stay at their property. Breakfast was excellent. Besides the fresh and local ingredients, and great homemade granola, the hosts would gladly cook the eggs and prepare the coffee in whatever way we would fancy in that particular morning. The location is very nice for biking or running by the river.

This is a real find, beautifully decorated and managed by the charming Australian couple, Mark and Denise who provide lovely large clean rooms – bottled water, chocolates and luxury bathroom items all as standard. Excellent breakfast served on the terrace or in the dining room: fresh fruit, home-made granola. Great pool and close to many venues of interest. Mark and Denise were able to give advice on local markets and vineyards. Table d’hôte dinner can be arranged with 24hrs notice. We enjoyed a wonderful meal with our hosts who provided fine food and wines at a reasonable price. This really is a great place to stay and relax, and enjoy time in this beautiful part of France.

Mark and Denise welcomed us into their beautiful home and were excellent hosts – providing exceptional service throughout our stay.
The breakfasts were truly delicious using fresh local produce.
The Manoir du Bois Mignon is very comfortable, beautifully finished, decorated with lovely artwork and many amusing artefacts. We would not hesitate to recommend the Manoir du Bois Mignon and, if we were ever in the area again, we would seize the opportunity to return.

A wonderfully warm and friendly welcome from Mark and Denise who couldn’t have been more helpful during our stay – right down to Mark reprogramming our Sat Nav to ensure we got home safely!
Le Manoir is stunning and the rooms are gorgeous and not just the one we stayed in as Mark kindly gave us a tour.
All of this and a sumptuous breakfast. A five star experience.

Fabulously friendly and helpful hosts, wonderfully located, beautifully restored Manoir- it doesn’t get any better than this. And have I mentioned the delicious breakfast? 10/10. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

What super surprising and remarkable hosts and house. The place is fantastic, decorated with taste. The bed is so comfortable that we would not want to leave it in the morning, but the other call is the great breakfast. Thank you for all your good advice for our visits and your hospitality. We felt very comfortable in this house the minute we entered it. Thank you again, happy next years in France.

I feel like I have been staying with friends for the past couple of days. Mark and Denise are wonderful hosts and truly go the extra mile. The Manoir is a beautiful house full of beautiful glass and art. One day I hope we will return otherwise I will treasure this memory.

What a great place, we so enjoyed our stay and will recommend anybody to come and experience the great hospitality offered by Mark and Denise. A “five star hotel” – but with a home from home feel. Thank you both for the best holiday ever!

Quelle gentillesse attentionnée! Quelle beauté, quel bon goût et quel calme! On a déjà envie de revenir, ne serait-ce que pour les délicieux cookies du tea-time! Un autre visage de l’Australie à découvrir de toute urgence!
(What considerate kindness! What beauty, what good taste and what peacefulness! We already want to come back, if only for the delicious cookies at tea-time! Another face of Australia to discover urgently!)

We had the pleasure of staying six nights in Amelia’s Suite in early October. The weather was divine, our hosts outstanding and the manor and gardens delightful. Amelia’s Suite is tastefully decorated and very comfortable; we even had a coffee machine and fresh milk as well as great books to read if we chose. A perfect relaxed break in a sumptuous and welcoming environment. Thanks Denise and Mark

We have had the most wonderful weekend with our fab hosts, Mark and Denise, and will definitely be back for more relaxed Aussie bon-homie. Wonderful accommodation, food and location. Who could ask for more?
Immaculate. Exquisitely furnished. Marvellous welcome. Perfection has a home right here in Manoir du Bois Mignon. Denise and Mark, your kindness adds to the all-around excellence. One thousand and one thanks for your absolutely perfect hospitality.

We stayed at le Manoir de Bois Mignon for two days in the middle of August and found Denise and Mark to be wonderful, welcoming hosts with their friendly manner and attention to detail. The Manor House is big enough so that all guests can find their own space both inside and outside. The new swimming pool is a welcome addition. The beautifully restored house and gardens are immaculate in every detail, the beds and bed linen are sumptuous, the breakfasts are made using local produce and afternoon teas are served with homemade cake. The Manoir is located in a delightful area of the Dordogne and Mark and Denise know the area well. You would be hard pushed to find a more luxurious, welcoming B&B in the area.

We stayed with Denise and Mark at Le Manoir du Bois Mignon 22nd to the 25th May 2015. The house and gardens are truly magnificent. Luxurious rooms with attention to every detail. The house itself is full of lovingly restored French features. Our hosts were a wealth of local knowledge and couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Lots to do locally, wineries of course, local Saturday markets with all things the French do best. A truly special place. A very special memory. We shall return again soon.

We spent three nights at Le Manoir du Bois Mignon just before it officially opened and were stunned not just at the beauty of the house but its gardens and surrounding countryside. My suite at the top of the house was luxurious and private and it was lovely just to lie in bed and watch the trees and listen to the birds in the morning.
There was no nicer way to start the day than a cup of coffee in the gardens followed by a generous breakfast. Mark and Denise were wonderful hosts and they have created an idyllic retreat in a beautiful part of France.

We traveled in Europe for 3 months & this was one place that certainly over delivered. We stayed at the glorious Manor du Bois Mignon for 5 nights. What a wonderful manor house with its rich heritage & history which has been recently renovated with charming decor in the suites & new state of the art amenities. The passion of the owners is clear in the renovations & amazing collection of art & sculpture. The beds were super comfy & the rooms are very generous with plenty of personal touches that made us feel welcome. We also used the spacious guest lounge, lovely outside garden areas & dining room. We liked the fact that we had plenty of privacy plus there are some nice walks from the house around the local vineyards & forest.
Denise & Mark were perfect hosts providing us information on all the local sights, restaurants & markets. There is plenty to do in the area & don’t miss the local markets at Ste Foy la Grande. We hadn’t planned to stop in the area but were glad we did. It’s a perfect base for an “off the tourist track” real experience of rural France.
Thank you both for a memorable stay, we are definitely planning to return.

We stayed at Le Manoir du Bois Mignon as Mark and Denise were finalising the renovations on the last of the guest suites. The rooms are all so beautifully decorated it was difficult choosing which one to sleep in! Our room not only looked great, it was spacious, quiet and had a very comfy bed. We had a very relaxing stay and during our time there got the opportunity to try some local restaurants, shop at the markets and go on a day trip to Bordeaux. We can’t wait to go back!

We stayed with Mark and Denise at Manoir du Bois Mignon in November 2014 before all the suites had been completed. We stayed in the Emi suite which overlooked the local vineyard and had its own private sitting room. More than enough space for the two of us! All of the areas that had been renovated had been done tastefully and in keeping with the manoir’s original features.
Mark and Denise were great hosts with tips on local attractions and things to do in the local area. They even had a selection of local wines that we loved tasting! With the likes of Bordeaux, St Emilion and Ste Foy La Grande (check out the markets) within close proximity it becomes an easy decision to stay. I hope we get a chance to return!

We’ve known Mark and Denise for many years and were one of the first to stay in their beautiful French home (or rather manoir!) in August 2014. At the time they were putting their heart and soul into a room by room renovation, restoring its former glory – the results of which look amazing! We had a ball exploring the local chateaux, wineries, restaurants and markets. Only wish we had more time. A beautiful part of the world and you won’t meet two more thoughtful and passionate hosts. Can’t wait to get back there!
